Kaldor Wins the 2011 Empire Cup!
A big congrats for Kaldor, winner of the 2011 Empire cup (The Tarnum). Kaldor was let to victory by his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers & Jordy Nelson let him to victory in the finals over Ray Rice, MJD, Calvin Johnson, Victor Cruz, & Rob Gronkowski. What a final!

Its Time for Another Year of Fantasy Football (2011 Edition)
YEA!!!!!... There will be a football season... and given that, there will be Fantasy Football again as well.
As some of you know the Empire has a Fantasy Football league. We are always looking for new Emps who would like to join us. You get to compete against people such as the Relentless and BinkDeBook. How can you not want to join and defeat these people? :). And we have a huge trophy that is passed around to the winners. All for a small nominal software maintenance fee.
I, for one, am looking forward to another good year of Fantasy Football, and its been way to long since I had that Trophy in my house... and I miss it! :)

City of Heroes Going Hybrid Free To Play/Pay Model
City of Heroes, the venerable Super Hero MMO, is going to a hybrid free to play/pay model. It will be re-branded City of Heroes Freedom, with three levels of players – Free, premium (anyone who has ever bought or subscribed to the game), and VIP (subscribers). Champions Online is Going Free to Play
Champions Online is officially going free-to-play January 25th, 2011. Anyone reading this has likely heard of City of Heroes/Villains, but maybe not Champions Online. Originally built as a Marvel superhero MMO, it was converted into the Champions MMO (originally of Pen and Paper fame) early in it's infancy. Since it's 2009 launch Champions has remained a action packed, mission based leveling funhouse.
Key features include:
Superhero customization on par (if not better) with the COH/COV level of awesomeness.
Your very own nemesis who will send his/her(it?!) goons to thwart your goodly efforts fully customized right down to personality type
Freeform powers allowing the choice from power armor, gadgets, guns, fire, force, telepathy, martial arts, sorcery and more...
Futher customization of powers via color, advantages, skins, and upgrades

Haewin Wins the 2010 Empire Cup!
A big congrats for Haewin, winner of the 2010 Empire cup (The Tarnum). This is his second time winning the Cup (won it in 2008). He fought a hard battle on the Road for most of the the Playoffs and managed to play some wicked defense down the stretch (stopping ADP in the semi-finals, and clipping the wings of Vick in the finals).

I know... It seems early.. But Football training camp is upon us, and that means that it's almost that time... Football season. As some of you know the Empire has a Fantasy Football league. Lord of the Rings Online is Going Free to Play
Lord of the Rings online is going free to play. Free? What does that mean?
Well there are several things this means.
First: Anyone who wants to venture into Middle Earth may do so, with no out of pocket cost.
Second: Those who already play will receive benefits for their past, and future play.
Third: Lots of stuff will change.
Fourth: Lots of stuff will stay the same.
So far, I haven’t told you a lot about it, so here are a few details.
Those with subscriptions, or lifetime memberships will receive “points” that they can use in the in game store. This store will have a variety of items available for everyone. Those playing the free to play option will be able to buy more content and such in this store.
Not all of the details have been released, as it is still in closed beta, and anyone in the beta is bound by the NDA.

Please check it out, and feel free to look up any members of The Empires in game for help, advice, or whatever your needs are.

Dae Wins the 2009 Empire Cup!
A big Congrat for Dae, winner of the 2009 Empire cup (The Tarnum). It was a turbulent season with the loss of one of our members. The records were close from day one among everyone, and most everyone had a chance to make the playoff near the end. Dae, who lost last year in the championship, made it back to the big game, and won it handily this year! So everyone wish him a big congrat!

The Empire is on the Map
Introducing the Empires Community map. Now you can see just where all our members live and game. This map is viewable to all. However only our valued members will be able to add there own personal map marker. There will be a link added to the left in our modules section for any who would like to go take a look. Shortly we are hoping to have a small image on our front page. All information on how to add your marker can be found in our member’s real life forum here.
